  • Introduction

Offshore engineering stainless – steel pipe is a key component in marine engineering. It is mainly used in offshore platforms, subsea oil and gas pipelines, seawater desalination systems and other facilities.   • Material & Performance

Materials: Common materials include austenitic stainless steels such as 316L, and duplex stainless steels such as 2205 and 2507;Or use 1.4404, 1.4462, 1.4410.

Performance: It has excellent corrosion resistance, especially resistance to seawater corrosion. The chromium in stainless steel forms a passive oxide film on the surface, which can resist the erosion of chloride, salt and other substances. It also has high strength and can withstand high – pressure environments in the ocean, and some materials can also maintain good performance in high – temperature environments. At the same time, it has good fatigue resistance and can resist the impact of waves and the wear of marine organisms.

  • ​Manufacturing Process

Raw Material Selection: Choose high-quality stainless steel billets or ingots that meet the required grades and standards.​

Hot Working: Heat the billets to a certain temperature and perform processes such as piercing (for seamless tubes) or welding (for welded tubes) to form the initial tube shape.​

Cold Working: Conduct cold rolling or cold drawing to achieve precise dimensions, smooth surface finish, and improve mechanical properties.​

Heat Treatment: Carry out annealing, solution treatment, or other heat treatments to eliminate internal stress, optimize the microstructure, and enhance performance.​

Inspection and Testing: Perform non-destructive testing (such as ultrasonic testing, eddy current testing) and pressure testing to ensure the quality and performance of the tubes meet standards.​

Surface Treatment: Conduct pickling, passivation, or other surface treatments to remove oxides and impurities, forming a protective film to improve corrosion resistance.
